The police observed that Joel Dalrymple had injuries about his body and took him to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival.
Investigations have revealed that public spirited persons had arrested Dalrymple and he was assaulted. A man has been arrested and is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
According to a police report at approximately 20:15 hrs on Wednesday 40-year Janice Paul and her husband 39-year-old Eusi Paul had just arrived home when they were attacked by a man armed with a dagger.
Police say the woman was stabbed about her body and was pronounced dead on arrival at the Georgetown Public Hospital. Her husband sustained injuries to his face and right hand and was treated and sent away.
