[www.inewsguyana.com] – A man was arrested in connection with the execution style killing of Patricia Sanasie – the former owner of Academy of Professional Studies on the East Bank of Demerara.
iNews was informed that the man was taken into custody at the weekend and fits the description of the killer, as described by eyewitnesses. He was subsequently released on station bail on Tuesday, January 27.
The woman was gunned down in front her 129 Atlantic Gardens, East Coast Demerara home on January 12 in the presence of one of her three daughters.
Sources confirmed that the man is no stranger to the police; at one point he was the body guard of some questionable characters. Information reaching iNews revealed that he subsequently became a paid hit – man.
The dead woman’s family took a decision to have her cremated in the United States as they are too afraid of traveling to Guyana to bury her.
iNews had reported that the Guyana Police Force does not have any plans to extradite the woman’s husband Deokarran ‘Ram’ Sanasie in relation to her murder.
iNews was told that Ram, who is presently in the United States of America (USA), has no plans to travel back to this country anytime soon.
Police sources told iNews that there is no solid evidence linking the businessman to his wife’s death even as relatives and close friends believe he may have been involved in her killing.
On February 14, 2014, the woman was taken into police custody after news surfaced that she allegedly paid to have her husband executed.
The couple has been married for some 28 years and the man was shot several times about the body while imbibing opposite his business – Ram’s Auto Spares – located at Fourth and Light Streets, Alberttown.
