Suspect in Craig murder confesses – Crime Chief
Acting Crime Chief, Paul Williams has this evening confirmed that the 21-year-old suspect who was held on Wednesday for the murder of an overseas-based Guyanese, who was shot dead during an attempt robbery, has since confessed to investigators.
Williams said that more work will have to be done before the suspect, who resides at 14th Avenue, Diamond New Housing Scheme, East Bank Demerara, is charged and placed before the courts. This includes the case file being sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Chambers for advice.
Purcell Moore, a father of two who was visiting Guyana from Cayenne, was shot at least four times at Old Road, Craig, EBD, by two pedal cycle bandits, who attempted to relieve him of the gold chain he was wearing. The shooting incident occurred mere minutes after the 42-year-old left his parent’s house at Old Road, Craig.
