[www.inewsguyana.com] – Sudesh Fitzgerald and Marilyn Adams shared the spoils in last Friday’s MSC / Trophy stall sponsored tournament at Maltenoes Sport Club.
The finals saw Sudesh Fitzgerald and Melissa Smart, who came out victorious winning two (2/0) straight in a best out of three games as they defeated other double finalists in Mark Persaud and Colin France.
Fitzgerald lost only one leg to Sherwin Greene in the Men’s finals. Fitzgerald finished the first leg checking out with double 20 before finishing the second with 17 darts starting with 180 points on his first throw and checking out with double 7.
Fitzgerald lost the third game to Greene after miscalculating the finish (with a 110 checkout Fitzgerald played 20, triple 20 and then shot for bull instead of double 15), leaving Greene to finish the game with double 20.
However, he finished the forth leg and won the tournament with another 17 darts checkout; he shot 125, 60, 100, 100, 40, and then checked out with triple 20, double 8.
Meanwhile in the women’s Singles, Marilyn Adams after a hiatus came out victorious in the Trophy Stall Female Single’s Darts Tournament.
Playing her first G.D.A. endorsed tournament for the year Adams defeated top female competitors like; Shondell Hyles and Mary Correia.
Shondell Hyles defeated Adams in the first game of the finals before Adams came back hard leveling the score 1/1. Before winning the deciding match, checking out double 17 and winning the female singles 2/1.
