Based on a report received that a “strip club” was in operation at Bikers Bar, located at lot 22 Covent Garden, East Bank Demerara (EBD), Police from ‘A’ Division and Headquarters responded and conducted a search of the premises between 21:50-23:55h on Friday.
According to Police PRO, Superintendent Jairam Ramlakhan twenty-seven (27) female foreign nationals who were found therein have since been detained and are assisting with the investigation as well as the owner/operator of the facility who resides at Nutmeg Street, North Ruimveldt.
It was outlined that, a case of liquor has been seized and lodged as there are no licences to operate any business whatsoever on the premises.
Police are currently conducting investigations.
