[www.inewsguyana.com] – Three employees of the Guyana National Bureau of Standards (GNBS) were arrested on Thursday afternoon (March 6) after they were caught red handedly accepting bribes.
iNews understands that the three employees accepted $200,000 cash in bribe from the owner of a fuel tanker in exchange of granting the tanker a certificate to transport fuel into the interior.
iNews was reliably informed that the monies were marked and the sting operation occurred at the GNBS office at the Sophia Exhibition site.
There have been numerous complaints of the rampant corruption occurring at the GNBS office, thus the sting operation.
