A woman, believed to be in her eighties, yesterday fought off a would-be rapist who attacked her at her home in Castries North.
A distraught relative of the woman told the Times that the would-be victim reported sitting on her porch with the front door to the house open, when a young man came up the steps, grabbed her hand and demanded that she go with him to the bedroom.
According to the relative, the man told the senior citizen that she was not “too old for that.”
However the Times was told that the woman resisted and her assailant eventually abandoned his attempt and left.
The traumatized victim has since moved out of the house and is staying with relatives.
The incident, which reportedly occurred during the mid afternoon on Friday, has been reported to the police.
