[www.inewsguyana.com] – Southland International Inc through its elite brand – Carlsberg – today handed over a substantial amount of cash to the Guyana Motor Racing & Sports Club (GMR&SC) and has secured exclusive Sponsorship rights for this year’s third leg of the Caribbean Motor Racing Championship that will be held at the South Dokota Circuit on November 16.
The sponsorship amount was not disclosed.
The first leg of the race was held in Barbados and the second was held in Trinidad and on November 16 motorcar drivers will converge in Guyana and battle for the championship title.
Treasurer of GMR&SC, Hansraj Singh expressed delight to have a reputable brand such as Carlsbery sponsoring this major event. He said motor racing is a growing and loved sport in Guyana and as such the partnership with Southland International is a step closer to taking the sport to another level.
“I think Carlsberg brings a lot, the Company itself – Southland – is very diversified…the Company itself brings a lot of other products to the market and Guyanese people are gravitating towards and I think Carlsberg itself as a beer is a very reputable company that is known worldwide and we would be happy to affiliate ourselves with Carlsberg.”
Chief Executive Officer of Southland International, Irzad Zamal also expressed his satisfaction with the partnership.
“We are very happy to ride along with this journey with the Guyana Motor Racing Association as we foster continued and strong growth of the motor racing sport in Guyana. As you know we have as a new company…We bring a difference of injection into the motor racing sports and into the club,” the CEO said.
He added that patrons can expect much more from Carlsberg at the event.
