Appearing before Chief Magistrate, Ann McLennan at the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts on Tuesday was 32-year-old Kevin Aaron of 2413 South Ruimvedt, Georgetown, to answer to a charge of discharging a loaded firearm.
Aaron, who was unrepresented, pleaded not guilty to the charge with stated that on September 8, 2016 in Georgetown, he discharged a loaded firearm to maim, disfigure, disable or to cause grievous bodily harm to Rawle Blackman.
The prosecution case disclosed that police ranks could not retrieve the firearm, however, they were able to acquire the rounds.
Aaron in his plea for the Chief Magistrate to be merciful in her ruling highlighted that he was the sole caretaker of his grandmother.
His pleas, were however, ignored as the prosecution objected to bail noting the “seriousness” of the matter.
The man is to make his next court appearance on October 3, 2016.
