A Sophia, Greater Georgetown man is now hospitalised after he was reportedly shot to one of his legs while in the vicinity of Joe Vieira Park, West Bank Demerara.
The man has been identified as Travis Monroe, 26, of B Field Sophia. While information remains sketchy, reports are that the injured man was standing on the roadway when a fight broke out between two men.
During the scuffle, the injured man claimed that one of the men discharged a round hitting him to his foot. Monroe reportedly told the Police that after he received the gunshot wound, he raised an alarm but the men made good their escape.
The Police at the La Granger Police Station are investigating the shooting incident. No one was arrested.
