Kacey Prince, 25, of lot 753 South B Field Sophia was earlier today (Friday), remanded to prison after he was slapped with a gun possession charge.

The charge stated that on July 17, he had in his possession a .32 tarus revolver without being a licence firearm holder at the time.

Prince pleaded not guilty to the charge when it was read to him by Magistrate Leron Daly.

According to facts presented, a sting operation was carried out in the area on the day in question when the said firearm was found in the back seat of a vehicle that was intercepted by police.

The prosecution objected to bail being granted while citing the serious nature of the offence.

Bail was refused and the accused was remanded to prison until August 24.
