A 23-year-old man is now critical at the Georgetown Public Hospital, while his friend is injured as a result of a drive-by shooting at their usual ‘liming’ spot in ‘B’ Field Sophia, Georgetown, this evening.
Reports indicate that Kevin Inniss along with a few other friends gathered at 325 ‘B’ Field Sophia, Georgetown to ‘lime’ (or hang-out) when they noticed a silver 212 motorcar passing in front of the location, slowly and some one from inside the vehicle, opened fire.
Approximately 14 shots were discharged at the scene, and Inniss is said to have been shot in the neck, back and chest, while the other victim, identified only as ‘Shane’ sustained injuries to his leg.
Inniss’ brother told Inews that he believes that his brother was targeted in the shooting, since the same vehicle reportedly stopped in front of Inniss’ home, four houses away from where the men were gathered.
However, he was unable to think of anyone that would want to hurt his brother, highlighting that Inniss was unmarried and did not have any children.
At the Georgetown Public Hospital, Inniss was clinging to his life since he lost a lot of blood due to his wounds. He was reportedly in need of two pints of blood.
‘Shane’ was subjected to have an X-ray done on his injured leg.
At the crime scene, pools of blood were visible and several spent shells were seen scattered.
An investigation has been launched.
