A pregnant woman allegedly launched an attack against her lover on Sunday after she realised that he was reportedly seeking a way out of their relationship.
Injured is 23-year-old Jamal Munroe, who was left nursing several lacerations about the body while the pregnant woman was also wounded as a result of the attack.
Based on reports received, the man and the pregnant woman had been living together in Sophia, Greater Georgetown for some months. However, things turned sour when the pregnant woman discovered that her partner was in a relationship with another woman.
As such, the 23-year-old was allegedly ambushed by the pregnant woman and her brothers upon arrival at home in the wee hours of Sunday.
This publication was told that as he entered, Munroe was pushed against the wall by his enraged lover. One of her brothers then attempted to douse the man with hot water, but missed and threw the scorching liquid on the woman instead.
However, he was not spared as the other brother allegedly approached with a weapon and dealt him several blows to the head and about his body.
The inured persons were subsequently taken to the Georgetown Public Hospital.
Police at the Turkeyen Police Station are investigating.
