The Indians’ 7 wicket win got off to a rocky start in their chase of 158, the departure of Chidhambaram Gautam for one after they only had two runs on the board.
However, Simmons showed what he is capable of by hammering his way to 68 making 5 fours and 4 sixes in that bath before he eventually went in the 15th over.
He and Ambati Rayudu put on 130 run partnership for the side, the latter gaining the man of the match performance for his 68, which came in 46 balls, 4 less than Simmons.
