[www.inewsguyana.com] – Guyanese batsman Shivnarine Chanderpaul is out of today’s NAGICO Super Team with an injury.
The veteran did not take the field today to open the batting against the Windward Islands and according to the West Indies Cricket Board, he has incurred injury.
Although the details are still sketchy as to what injury may have occurred to the 39 – year – old Guyanese, he has been quickly replaced by Assad Fudadin at the top of the order.
The team is yet to make an official statement as to the condition of the batsman but a twitter account attached to the tournament indicates that he is not badly injured.
“I’ve just received word that Shiv isn’t badly injured. In fact, he should be back for Guyana’s last Zone game against Jamaica,” the site was quoted as saying
Chanderpaul, who opened in the first game against Ireland, stood in a 129 run partnership with Trevon Griffith.
