Several injured in Sunday night smash-up

[www.inewsguyana.com] – Several persons were rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital after they were involved in a smash-up involving a 212 motor car and canter on the Mont Rose Public Road in the vicinity of Happy Acres just about 22.45 hours on Sunday, December 29.

One of the occupants of the canter told iNews last evening that they were heading West along the East Coast Demerara highway when they just cleared a turn and realized that the car which was traveling in the opposite direction ended up in the canter lane.

iNews was unable to confirm exactly how many persons were involved in the accident. However, at the hospital there were at least two young men with multiple lacerations and bruises to the body including the neck, head, back feet and hands.

At the accident scene, the impact told a story. Both vehicles seem to have been speeding and as a result of the impact, they both ended up off the road with the car clearly suffering the most damage and is likely a total wreck.
