[www.inewsguyana.com] – Several persons were burnt and others suffered injuries about their bodies after being forced to jump from their burning ‘C’ Field Sophia house around mid-night on (Friday, January 2).
iNews was reliably informed that the man who Cobola Buelow (an occupant) ended her relationship with over a year ago returned to the house where she lived with her family, including her mother, children and stepfather and began knocking on the doors; demanding entry.
When they refused, he reportedly doused the house and its environs with gasoline and subsequently set it ablaze before fleeing the scene. The suspected Arsonist has only been identified as ‘Gavin’ and reportedly works in Guyana’s interior region.
The woman’s common law husband was severely burnt and is currently a patient in the Burn Care Unit at the Georgetown Public Hospital. He was identified as Security Guard, Shawn White.
Four other persons, including Buelow were burnt about the body. A total of 10 persons suffered injuries.
Family members were too distraught to provide additional details when contacted. A police investigation and a man hunt for the suspected Arsonist has been launched.
