A security guard attached to the Barama Company is in critical condition at the Georgetown Public Hospital following an accident at Land of Canaan, East Bank Demerara (EBD) on Tuesday. The injured man has been identified as 34-year-old Roy Davidson of Timehri, EBD.
According to information received, Davidson was attempting to ride across the East Bank Public Road in the vicinity of F&T Designs when he was struck by a motor car, which was heading south.
The impact of the collision reportedly caused Davidson to be thrown into the air and he landed on the car’s windscreen before falling to the roadway.
He was picked up and rushed to the Diamond Diagnostic Centre, but was transferred to the Georgetown Public Hospital for further medical attention. The driver of the car is in Police custody assisting with the investigation.
