Cleaners at the East Bank Regional Hospital, better known as the Diamond Diagnostic Centre, are presently battling with cleaning up flooded areas at certain sections inside of the hospital.
INews understands that in light of the rainfall earlier this morning, a leakage of unknown origin occurred. This resulted in the rain flooding the health facility and a number of patients had their treatments delayed.
According to a hospital source, staffers were forced to continue working under the above-mentioned conditions and there is a back up of patients who still need to be treated today.
However, the flood issue is somewhat under control at the moment, the source said.
“We don’t know what caused the flood inside of the hospital, but I believe it is a sewage problem. That is bad for a health facility and the patients today are being looked at, but there is a buildup of course although we are being forced to work under such conditions. The cleaners are working hard in dealing with the water flooded inside and it seems to be under control for now…let’s hope they fix the problem soon,” the source added.
