[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Rugby Football Union (GRFU) has selected their national team for the upcoming NACRA sevens competition scheduled for Mexico in December.
The players were selected based on their performances at the Banks DIH sevens as well as the 10’s rugby tournament and came from the following clubs: Yamaha Caribs, UG Wolves, Guyana Defence Force and the Pepsi Hornets.
The players are set to start training from next week and are expected to depart on November 27 for the event. Barrington Browne will be conducting strength and conditioning training with the players.
The following names will make up the male squad: Ryan Gonsalves, Rockford Cummings, Akeem Fraser, Andrew Jarvis, Oneil Charles, Carl Lewis, Kevon David, Grantley Williams, Theodore Henry, Claude Alexander, Blaise Bailey, Felon Thompson, Jason Tyrell, Chris Singh, Leon Greaves, KeshaMars, Mark Sobers, Albert La Rose, Rondell Mc Arthur, Lancelot Adonis, Ryan Dey, Jamal Angus, Osei Mc Kenzie, Michael Anderson, Edward Broomes, Phibian Andrew Joseph, Delon Fordyce, Trey Selman, Avery Corbin, Dwayne Schroder, CyonKitt, Joseph Rahaman, Patrick King, Rodwell Hutson, Terrance Daniels, Patrick Bristol, Seon Phillips and Jermain Jacobs.
The GRFU has also invited the following overseas based players to be a part of the process of making the squad; Kevin Mc Kenzie, Ronald Mayers, Peabo Hamilton, Albert La Rose, Richard Staglon, Cladius Butts, Vallon Adams, Rupert Harvey Giles, Dominic Lespierre and Isiejah Allen.
