[www.inewsguyana.com] – The University of Guyana trampled all over the Guyana Defence Force to walk away with a 48-0 lead last weekend when Rugby action continued in the Rugby 10’s tournament at the National Park Rugby Ground.
GFG was simply outplayed by the University as they dismantled the military men.
The up and coming Godfrey Gomes top scored for UG with 16 points that consisted of three tries and two conversions.
Also scoring for UG was Fabien Joseph with two tries ,Oise McKenzie one try, captain Rondell Mc Author two tries and Lance Adonis two conversions in the drubbing of GDF.
Meanwhile Pepsi Hornets and the Yahama Caribs played to a 24-24 draw that ended the weekend of action.
Scoring for Hornets was Christopher Singh with two tries ,Delroy Gordon one try, Jason Terrill one try while captain Rayon Gonzales had two conversions.
Caribs points came from, Captain Theodore Henry two tries with two conversions, Charles O’Neil and Grantley Williams with one try each.
The tournament will continue this weekend at the same venue as two games are scheduled for both Saturday and Sunday.
