[www.inewsguyana.com] – Former Leader of the People’s National Congress Reform (PNC/R), Robert Corbin has distinctively separated himself from former party executive, Joseph Hamilton and his claims that he[Corbin] supplied guns to the House of Israel during the period surrounding the 1980 assassination of Dr Walter Rodney.
During an exclusive telephone interview with iNews, Corbin said he wasn’t fully briefed on the issue, but admitted that he did read a bit about it and is convinced that the testimony of Joseph Hamilton was part of a political conspiracy to malign the leaders of the People’s National Congress Reform.
Hamilton testified at the ongoing Commission of Inquiry (COI) into the death of Dr Rodney.
He said that Hamilton’s testimony is based on fabrication, blatant lies and lacked accuracy. He said at the period that Hamilton claimed that he [Corbin] was the leader of the Youth and Student Movement is false.
Corbin claimed that he was out of the YSM long before the period that Hamilton referred to. The former opposition leader told iNews that what seems obvious in the testimony of the one-time senior party member is that he [Hamilton] is presently working for his present pay masters.
Corbin, who related that he is presently out of town promised to speak with iNews in depth about the testimony of his one-time colleague.
