[www.inewsguyana.com] – A 41-year-old man has been sentenced to nine months imprisonment for the offenses of break and enter and larceny.
Bernard Shaw, who says he is from Enmore, East Coast Demerara, pleaded guilty to the charges, which state that on September 16, 2015 at North Road, Bourda, Georgetown, he broke and entered Baroom Bar and stole one Microwave and a gas cylinder, together valued $47,000, property of Terone Hamilton.
According to the prosecution, Hamilton secured his business premises on the day in question and left; however upon his return, he discovered the articles mentioned in the charge missing. Subsequently, the matter was reported to the police and the CCTV cameras were reviewed, where the convict was seen entering and leaving the premises.
Prosecutor, Deniro Jones informed the court that both articles were recovered and lodged and Shaw was sentenced to two years in 2006 for simple larceny.
