The body of the 41-year-old pilot who was killed in Sunday’s plane crash in Region Eight was this morning recovered, according to the Guyana Defence Force’s Communication Officer, Major Earl Edgehill.
Edgehill has further confirmed that Captain Imran Khan’s body has left Mahdia for Ogle by air and an autopsy is expected to be conducted upon reaching Georgetown.
Inews had previously reported that on Sunday last, the aviation fraternity was thrown into yet another state of mourning after receiving news that Captain Imran Khan had lost his life when the Cessna 206 (8R-GFM) aircraft he was piloting went down some three miles west of Mahdia in Region 8 (Potaro-Siparuni).
The 41-year-old Captain of Essequibo Coast, Region Two, had been attached to Air Services Limited, and was flying from Chi-Chi to Mahdia when his aircraft went down.
