A 22-year-old, realtor was on Wednesday before the Georgetown Magistrates’ Courts for the second time, charged with five counts of fraud.
Basdeo Persaud of Mon Repos, East Coast Demerara (ECD) denied the charges put to him by City Magistrate Fabayo Azore.
He denied fraudulently obtaining a total sum of $320,000 from Rohini Persaud between January 6-19, 2018 pretending that he was in a position to obtain for her a plot of land.
He further denied obtaining some $140,000 from Mohani Ramdeen for the same purpose between February 27–30, 2018.
The women reportedly filed reports after seeing on the news that Persaud allegedly committed the said acts before on April 10 against Anarada Persaud obtaining $450,000 from her.
Persaud had made two payments and while constructing on the land, she found out that the said land was not up for sale.
He was placed on $100,000 bail for that offence and placed on $150,000 bail for these current offences.
