[www.inewsguyana.com] – Both the women and youth arms of the APNU+AFC Coalition have recorded their outrage with a recent incident involving Health Minister Dr Bheri Ramsaran and women’s rights activist Sherlina Nageer at the Whim Magistrate’s Court.

The new condemnation adds to the growing voice of dissent against Dr Ramsaran’s statement which includes People’s Progressive Party/ Civic Prime Ministerial Candidate Elisabeth Harper, Education Minister Priya Manickchand and Former President Dr Bharrat Jagdeo.

At Whim, Dr Ramsaran during his diatribe against Nageer said he would strip and slap the social activist and told her bluntly to “eff off.”

“He promised more than once to slap the young lady who was simply asking about the reasons for his presence at the courthouse…Ramsaran’s behaviour crosses every boundary of decency. He has once again demonstrated the crassness and total disrespect for this nation’s women which we are now convinced is an entrenched culture within the hollow halls of Freedom House,” the APNU+AFC statement noted.

“This crew of foul-mouthed, disrespectful, uncultured official shows us time and time again that they have abrogated unto themselves the right to mistreat the citizens of this nation, the right to do and spew whatever they want to without fear of consequences,” it added.

According to the APNU+AFC, the incident only give the Guyanese electorate an additional reason to remove the PPP/C from office and make way for a new government.

“The PPP/C is providing Guyanese with the reasons to remove them from the leadership of this country. They have taken the trust and confidence that our people gave to them to lead us onto a path of development and enlightenment, and turned that trust into embarrassment at home and abroad, into verbal abuse of ordinary citizens, professionals and even of high ranking personages of the ilk of Dr. Yesu Persaud,” the statement reported.

  1. The Heath minister should pay more attention to the suicide rate of young Guyanese, but he is sticking is nose where it does not belong. Guyana has the highest suicide rate in the Caribbean. If it was not for a woman his ass would not be around to talk shit about them.

  2. Agreed he sould have handled this matter in a civil manner by doing the right thing and ignore this individual.

She provoked hence invaded his space while he was been interviewed however calling for this doctor to step down is utter nonsense.

  3. Demand that this man step down or be removed from his post. Misogyny is despicable and shameful behavior and must not be tolerated at all. The world is watching. The diaspora got this.
