[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Woodpecker Products Annual Christmas Singles Tournament concluded on Friday with the Ramdhani family running rampant in their respective categories.
The tournament which was contested at the Queens College Badminton Courts saw Priyanna Ramdhani take the Under-19 Girls Singles Finals where from Ambika Ramraj: 21-16, 21-9.
In the Open Men Finals Narayan Ramdhani defeated Nicholas Ali in a three setter. Ali won the first set at 22-20 before Ramdhani came back in the last two sets: 18-21, 15-21.
In the under 15 males Jonathan Mangra was crowned champion ahead of Hemraj Beharry and joint third place winners Armand Ramdhani and Ransell Ramsaroop.
On the distaff end of the same age grouping Priyanna was the champion, beating off Ambika Ramraj and Abosaide Cadogan & Siya Persaud. The tournament marks the end of the badminton calendar for the 2013 year.
