[www.inewsguyana.com] – Narayan and Priyanna Ramdhani showcased their chemistry as siblings by walking away with the Gumdac annual Open Doubles badminton tournament when the event began on Monday, February 09 at the Queens College courts.
The Ramdhani’s, who are Guyana’s top players, defeated Jonathan Mangra and Abosaide Cadogan in two straight sets at 12-10 and 21-12 while getting by Nicholas Ali and Siya Persaud in two sets as well at 21-10 and 21-13.
Ali and Persaud finished second by topping Mangra and Cadogan in three sets at 20-22, 21-18 and 14-21.
Meanwhile, in men’s doubles action, Narayan Ramdhani and Ali moved into the semifinal by defeating Tyreese Jeffre and Lakshman Das easily in two sets at 21-6 and 21-7 while Gokarn Ramdhani and George Melville also made their way to the semifinals with 2-0 win over Tyreese Richards and Ransell Ramsaroop at 21-6 and 21-7.
