[www.inewsguyana.com] – The team of Afraz Allie, Keith Evelyn and Annad Ramchand over the weekend stole the Guyana Motor Racing and Sports club 2014 endurance first leg on Sunday, January 12.
The season opener saw the trio pip the team of Adrian Fernandes after both teams completed a total of 83 laps over the reduced two hour fixture.
After the race, one of the drivers, Evelyn said that strategy was key to enduring the grueling two hour drive as they had to conserve their tires, brakes, gear box and as well as the general health of the car.
In the latter stages, Evelyn noted that they were pushing to keep track with the Fernandes team who were posting quick times and durability through the day.
Meanwhile, in the ‘C’ class, the team of Syad Hassan and Roshan Ali carted off the first place with 80 laps ahead of Roshan Alli and the team of W.R. Reaz and
Dowolu Harper with 54 laps took charge of the B class ahead of Sharima Khan while ‘A’ class was won by Mohamed Ali and Harold Hopkinson took second.
