[www.inewsguyana.com] – As the May-June rainy season hits Guyana, it has put a damper on the training of the national rugby squad who are in preparation for the upcoming Olympic qualifiers in June.
While training is ongoing, Coach of the national squad, Theodore Henry highlighted that the effectiveness of the training sessions is not where it’s supposed to be.
“The weather has been tough for us, what we want to do is really better when the place is dry but it can be down while the place is wet, however, its slows our intensity,” Henry stressed.
However, in the face of the adversity, Henry noted that training has been going well and the squad is focused on getting better in order to give Guyana’s its best chance to qualify for the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.
The national rugby team is expected to fly out on June 5 for the Olympic qualifiers before moving onto the Pan American games in July.
