The brother of acquitted murder accused, Leon Duncan, was brought before the court of law on Monday after being slapped with a robbery under arms charge committed on Steve Munroe.
The accused Shaquille Duncan, 25, who is an Office Assistant attached to the Ministry of Public Security denied that he, on February 5, 2019 at Mandela Avenue, while being in the company of others and armed with a gun, robbed Steve Munroe called Pablo of $360,000.
The 25-year-old of lot 1917 Williamstead Road Festival City stood before Principal Magistrate Sherdel Isaacs Marcus at the Georgetown Magistrates Court.
Prosecutor Quinn Harris objected to bail given the seriousness, prevalence and penalty attached to the charge, also that he was armed with a gun.
He also stated that the accused and the virtual complainant had a scuffle for the chain during which time he was arrested by public spirited citizens.
During the botched robbery, Duncan was allegedly shot by his accomplice. In an initial report, according to an eyewitness, Duncan was shot to his left arm by his partner who attempted to shoot several public spirited persons during robbery.
The lone robber managed to escape leaving his partner in crime and the weapon used on the scene.
The prosecution is however contending that on the day in question at around 16:35hrs, the victim was hanging out on Mandela Avenue and Plaza Bridge when two men, armed with a gun, snatched a gold chain off his neck.
The Magistrate remanded Duncan to prison until March 4, 2019.
