[www.inewsguyana.com] – Police officers from the Providence Police Station headed by woman Inspector Small and members of the A Division Community Policing Group donated several school items to the Mocha Arcadia Primary School on Sunday, July 06.
The exercise books, sharpeners, led pencils, erasers and other items were handed over to the head teacher of the school, Vanessa Thumbler- Moore by the Community Policing Group’s Chairman Sewnarine Kalicharan.
The donation was also witnessed by secretary of the CPG Paul Mc Turk, Inspector Small, woman Sergeant Handy, parents and several students of the school.
Inspector small encouraged the children to remain focused on their education and to understand the need for them to be educated, employed and separate themselves from activities which are in contradiction to the laws and which could see them getting into problems with the law.
The two Community Policing Group members spoke to the children about remaining on the good side of the law and reporting any unlawful activities to their teachers who will forward those to the police.
They promised that the donation to the school will not be the last of its kind since the police and the CPG body will remain in contact with the school and will provide whatever necessary items are needed. [Leroy Smith]
