Dr Lloyd Validum, one of the country’s prominent malariologist, has died at the age of 61.
Minister of Health, Dr Frank Anthony and the health fraternity have expressed heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Dr Validum who passed on April 24.
Dr Validum once served as the Director of the National Malaria Control Programme under the Ministry of Health.
“We will always be thankful for the excellent service he gave the health sector and he will certainly be missed. His contribution was substantive and his legacy will be remembered. The Ministry asked that your prayers and support be extended to his family at this most difficult time in their lives,” the Ministry of Health said in a statement.
