[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Academy of Professional Studies at Mc Doom, East Bank of Demerara was forced to close its doors on Friday, March 28 after its student population was reduced to sixteen. This is the same school where the male teacher had sex with his 14 – year – old student unprotected then administered contraceptives to her.
iNews (www.inewsguyana.com) has been reliably informed that after the matter was first reported by this news site, parents began taking their children out of the school while others informed their parents that they are no longer willing to attend the school given the sexual scandal.
The source who spoke with iNews (www.inewsguyana.com) related that the school had a population of close to one hundred students. The source also said that the school has already put the systems in place to ensure that those students who would have signed up for their CXC exams will be afforded the chance to write that exam.
The school has been in contact with the Ministry of Education and those CXC students will be receiving their candidate numbers from the examinations division.
Meanwhile, the teachers have bitterly complained over non – payment from the proprietor of the school.
“She has not paid teachers and told the Administrator to tell us that “she gonna pay us when she get de money,” one teacher told iNews.
