[www.inewsguyana.com] – Prison and police ranks on Thursday evening were able to recapture Ravindra Samaroo, who escaped from the New Amsterdam Prison on Wednesday evening along with another prisoner.
INews was told that the man was found hiding in a clump of bushes in Cow Dam New Amsterdam and the police received the information from persons in the area.
He was called upon to surrender to which he complied and was promptly arrested unharmed. He was immediately placed into the custody of the prisons even as the search continues for the other prisoner, Lennox Patterson.
The two broke out of the New Amsterdam Prison on Wednesday evening and made good their escape with the aid of several bed sheets which they tied and let themselves down from the prison building.
They then scaled the fence and escaped, undetected by prison guards. Patterson is still at large.
Is this the level of thinking that pollutes the Guyanese civil atmosphere? What is the relevance of such empty statement? Can I ask whether President Ramoutar or other Presidents given amnesty to prisoners?
