The Guyana Government will be further lowering the excise tax rate on gasoline and diesel from 20% to 10%, which will result in significant reductions in the prices of fuel.
The announcement was made by Finance Minister Dr Ashni Singh during his presentation of Budget 2022.
In 2021, government had reduced the excise tax twice – once in February and then again in October.
