A 23-year-old presidential guard is among five persons who were killed in a horrific accident at Friendship East Bank Demerara (EBD).
He has been identified as Ronel Barker of Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara. He was a father of a baby girl.
The accident occurred at about 6:00h and involved a police car and a private motorcar. At the time, the police vehicle was reportedly heading to Pearl on the East Bank of Demerara to provide escort to President David Granger.
The four other occupants of the private motorcar were all killed. Two of those persons have been identified as Herbert Josiah and Denise King-Josiah of Friendship Squatting Area, EBD.
