[www.inewsguyana.com] – The post mortem results into the death of 4-month-old Kevon Critchlow are inconclusive and experts are conducting additional tests of the baby’s bodily fluids to determine an exact cause of death. This is according to Regional Executive Officer, region 4, Deolall Rooplall.
Reports indicate that Critchlow died after being administered a wrong injection during a visit to the Plaisance Health Centre; a deed which the nurse who administered the injection later confessed to.
Rooplall told iNews that the final results into the death of the toddler are expected by Friday.
“They want to make sure that they are absolutely correct on their cause, by Friday hopefully, that should be available,” he said.
iNews has since been informed by a reputable source that, the nurse responsible for the deed, had previously administered two wrong injections which resulted in the patients returning with abscess at the spot of injection.
The source also indicated to iNews that at present, workers at the facility are fearful given the outrage of the parents of the now dead baby.
“The staff is concerned about their safety and if the government don’t fix and acknowledge the fact that the staff was wrong and correct it as soon as possible…the people will not be going back to work.”
The toddler’s mother and other relatives protested in front the clinic on Monday, March 23, demanding justice.
