[www.inewsguyana.com] – One day after commissioning a new $700 million branch on Camp Street, Georgetown, the Vlissengen Road branch of Popeye’s was robbed last night (Friday, September 12).
Police say at about 22:15 hrs two men, one of whom was armed with a handgun, entered the Popeye’s Restaurant where they held up the supervisor, 27 – year – old Mahendra Persaud.
The perpetrators took away a total of $1.1M and escaped. That branch has experienced several robberies over time.
Investigations are in progress.
