[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Guyana Police Force is in the process of seeking legal advice in the alleged rape of Colwyn Harding. Harding claimed that Police Constable, Devin Mahendra Singh pushed a police baton covered with a condom up his anus, while he was a detainee at the Timehri Police Station.
The incident allegedly occurred between November 15 – 18, 2013 and resulted in puncturing the intestines of the 23 – year – old man, who was hospitalized. Following the allegations, the Police Office of Professional Responsibility conducted an investigation into the incident.
The investigation was completed on Tuesday, January 22 and as such, legal advice is now being sought. Following reports of the alleged rape, the accused Police Constable has been placed under close arrest, while the other ranks from the Timehri Police Station were transferred to Georgetown.
