[www.inewsguyana.com] – Medical treatment for servicing members of the Guyana Police Force and their immediate families will soon be covered by the Force Medical Insurance should all go well with ongoing discussions.
This was announced by Commissioner of Police (ag), Seelall Persaud recently when he addressed senior and junior police ranks at the Police Force annual first aid competition.
According to the Top Cop, there are already discussions between the administration of the Force and several medical practitioners who are providing advice.
iNews understands that the Force will be implementing an annual medical and physical exercise which all ranks will be expected to take part in.
Very soon, a doctor who is in private practice, will be setting up facilities to ensure that police ranks have access to a clinic which will be operated out of the Force Training Complex at Young and Camp Streets in Georgetown and a special day would be set aside for the clinic to be accessed by senior officers of the Guyana Police Force.
The Police Commissioner said the moves being adopted by the administration of the Guyana Police Force to ensure that police ranks are more fit and healthy are aimed at ensuring that they are able to provide a better service to the communities that they serve.
