[www.inewsguyana.com] – Crime Chief and Deputy Commissioner of Police Seelall Persaud told iNews on Thursday (February 6) that there are two suspects who are being sought by the police with respect to the killing of popular designer Trevor Rose. He said there has been no big break thus far in the investigations.
According to the Crime Chief, several leads are being followed. He said that when the suspects are found and questioned, the motive for the killing is likely to become clear. Persaud explained that there are two angles from which the probe is being done.
The first one has to do with the police examining and exploring claims that the killing could have been as a result of the argument the driver of the taxi he was travelling in at the time had with the driver of another car.
While the second angle has to do with the police attempting to determine if the shooting might have been as a result of another reason which makes the two incidents separate and with no connections.
Rose, one of Guyana’s most talented designers, was shot dead on January 26 while in the back seat of a car (PMM 8113). The incident occurred at the Eccles, East Bank Demerara entrance to the traffic lights, just after 5:00hrs, when another car pulled up alongside the car Rose and his female companion, Latoya Towler were in.
The female received a gunshot wound to the buttocks while the driver, Trevor Newinkiri sustained a wound to his left shoulder. The driver managed to drive the Georgetown Public Hospital, where 32 – year – old Rose was pronounced dead.
