A Senior Official from the Criminal Investigation Department today confirmed that police investigators were actively retrieving information about the owners of the vehicle which was used to transport two men last evening who robbed the General Manager of Yokohama Trading of $1.4M in cash.
The Officer said, “We are following all leads. We will leave no stone unturned in this particular probe because there are still a lot of questions to be answered”.
The Officer related that the lawmen are also processing the evidence they retrieved from the scene of the robbery which saw the two armed suspects discharging several rounds at the GM’s vehicle before grabbing the loot and escaping on foot.
“We are also going to try to get some surveillance footage, if any, from nearby businesses and homes”, the officer related.
Meanwhile, Police confirmed that the incident occurred around 7:30pm on Thursday, a short distance away from President David Granger’s official residence (State House) on Main Street.
The General Manager who has been identified as 24-year old Deepak Baldraj sustained minor injuries following the incident and is working from police sleuths as investigations continue.
