[www.inewsguyana.com] – The suspect in the murder of Carlissa Matthews was arrested by the police at about 08:00hrs on Thursday (January 2) Springlands, Corentyne.
The man, who is said to be an ex-lover of Mathews, is believed to have been en-route to Suriname.
Twenty – year – old Mathew’s life was sniffed out mere moments before ushering in the New Year (2014).
Police in an earlier report stated that Matthews of North Ruimveldt, Georgetown was shot at about 23:45hrs on Tuesday (December 31) at Water Street, Georgetown.
According to initial investigations, Matthews and a man with whom she shared a relationship had a misunderstanding earlier. She was standing on Water Street when the man came up and shot her to her head and escaped.
He is in police custody assisting with the investigations.
