[www.inewsguyana.com] – Assistant Commissioner of Police, Administration Balram Persaud says the Guyana Police Force is ready to play its role in the pre and post elections period and has been ready since last year.
During an interview with iNews on Tuesday, January 20, Persaud admitted that there are a few issues that need to be ironed out by the weekend as members of the Force prepare themselves.
“The organization has been at an all-time high level of readiness and preparedness for its task leading up, during and after elections” Persaud told iNews.
He went on to state that “No amount of preparation can be completed and we have to work with the Guyana Elections Commission in this regard.”
The areas of focus for the Police Force include transportation, meals, fuel, accommodation, human resources and financing.
President Donald Ramotar announced on Tuesday that General and Regional Elections will be held on May 11, 2015.
