[www.inewsguyana.com] – Thirty – year-old Michael Benn of Charity, Essequibo Coast was arrested by police on Monday evening [September 30] after discharging rounds indiscriminately in a public place.
According to the police, Benn was arrested by a police patrol at about 20:00hrs at Charity Public Road. Police said he was standing in front of Xenon Disco with a gun in his hand discharging rounds in the air.
He had in his possession at the time one Taurus .38 revolver, three live rounds and one spent shell.
While police did not indicate the legality of the weapon and ammunition, Benn is currently in police custody and charges will be laid shortly.
