[www.inewsguyana.com] – Police say on Tuesday morning (January 21) ranks conducted an operation within the areas of Diamond and Providence, East Bank Demerara and Ruimveldt and Tucville, Georgetown.
During the operation a total of nine persons were arrested.
Four men were arrested pending investigations into armed robberies, two men and two women were arrested for possession of Narcotics for the purpose of trafficking and a man was arrested after an unlicensed .32 Taurus Pistol along with two magazines and 25 matching rounds were found in his home.
He was also wanted for questioning pending investigations into another matter where a firearm was recovered at Ogle, East Coast Demerara.
They are in custody assisting with the investigations.
