The Cinderella County has now recorded another death of a young man following an accident which took place yesterday afternoon along the Aurora Public Road, Essequibo Coast, Region Two.
Reports are that Major Cunjah, an 18-year-old lad from the Pomona Housing Scheme, was the pillion rider on a motorcycle when the tragic accident took place around 17:25h.
INews understands that the person who was the rider of the motorcycle at the time of the unfortunate incident lost control and crashed on the Aurora Public Road.
Public spirited persons rushed out to offer their assistance and the two injured men were taken to the Suddie Hospital for emergency medical attention.
However, while receiving treatment Cunjah succumbed to his injuries.
According to Commander of “G” Division, Kevin Adonis, it is believed that the person who was operating the motorcycle at the time of the accident lost control because he was under the influence of alcohol. However, police ranks are presently continuing investigations to ascertain this.
The injured man is still hospitalised at the Suddie Hospital.
