Murder accused Carlyle Barton of Hadfield Street Georgetown made his fourth court appearance today before Magistrate Fabayo Azore for a date to commence the Preliminary Inquiry.
The accused was represented by Attorney – at – Law Mark Waldron who asked the magistrate for an early date. Barton was told to return to court on July 9 for the Preliminary inquiry.
On May 30, Barton made his first court appearance before Chief Magistrate Priya Beharry and was not required to plead to the capital offence of murder.
It is alleged that on May 27 at Orange Walk Georgetown while being armed with an unlicensed firearm he shot 37 – year old Shawn Nelson who died a few days later at the Georgetown Public Hospital. [Royan Abrams]
