[www.inewsguyana.com] – The Preliminary Inquiry (PI) into the murder of Courtney Crum-Ewing has been completed and the decision as to whether Regan ‘Grey Boy’ Rodrigues, will go on trial for the murder will be revealed on January 11, 2016.
On this date, Magistrate Fabayo Azore will reveal whether Prima Faacie case has been made out against the alleged hit man. The decision was expected to be handed down on Monday, November 30; however the Magistrate revealed that she has not completed her findings as yet.
Thirty-seven year old Rodrigues of River View, Ruimveldt was slapped with the charge which alleged that on March 10 he executed Crum-Ewing in Diamond, East Coast Demerara while the deceased was encouraging residents of the Housing Scheme to vote for the A Partnership for National Unity/Alliance For Change (APNU/AFC) at the May 11 General and Regional Elections.
Rodrigues was arrested and charged after he was caught with a .32 Taurus pistol and 14 matching rounds of ammunition which matched the weapon that killed the ex-soldier.
During the PI, in excess of 30 statements were gathered from eyewitnesses, the deceased’s family members and the investigating ranks. However, “Grey Boy” denied the entire allegation and remained tight-lipped, maintaining that he was being framed.
He also made claims that he knew who committed the murder, and that he would later reveal this information given the right incentive.
